Feature: Why Science Needs Fiction

What is the world we want to build? What is the world we don’t want to build? In a recent fireside chat titled “Science Fiction or Fictional Science” held at the Hello Tomorrow Global Summit, deeptech VC and Sci-Fi writer Dr Elsa Sotiriadis (EA Solaris), and Anne Charnock discussed the power of science fiction as an empathy machine to spark dialogue and imagine worlds of the future. We met up with Elsa following this panel to explore the idea of scientists as heroes, humanity in narrative, and her top picks for science-fiction media which is changing the world.
